Foil Wedding

This was my card swap for the girls night about a week ago.  We were to design a card and then make one for each of the 12 people attending the swap.  This was my card.  I had been wanting to make a card with simple tin foil so this was my chance.  I sent the tinfoil through the big shot first using the top note die.  Then I sent it through again with the Lacy Brocade folder to give it texture.  Now note to self this card looks good, but i later learned that if you double up the tinfoil the top note die seals it together and it makes it easier to work with when it comes to the twine ;)  Next step is the twine.  Then you add the flower and the NEW Artisian stamp and punch.  This week I will share everyone elses card swaps.  Stay tuned they are great!!!

Butterfly Grad

This is another card cased from Andrea!  She was very helpful with this class!  I did not attach the words on the bottom of the card.  I figured it would be a good encouragement card as well!

Pennant Dad

Again soooo cute!  Andrea did a great job on her card.  I wanted to simplify the card a little for my class so I have to admit that I love her card!  This card was pretty simple but I loved the look!  It could work for any occasion with just simple color changes.  I wanted something easy for my class to recreate so I just used framelits rather than free cutting the pennants (like Andrea's). Have a Crafty Wednesday!

2013 Graduation Banner

I totally cased this card from my friend Andrea. Below my cased card is Andrea's original card.  I was prepping for my class and she sent me this amazingly cute grad card.  I was working on a class that included Graduation cards.  My friend Andrea said I was welcome to case any card she made so here is my version of her card.  This card was so simple and looks soooo nice.  You start with the colored background.  Then you attach the bottom white strip and then attach the banner.  I loved that she did not use a string, but rather just the pennants!!!  The hard thing is in the city I live in there are six or seven High Schools our friends kids attend.  So I thought I would make a bunch of colors to suite everyone.  My mom and I also decided to make a few extras and we did not attach the end number to the card.  I stamped a 4 and a 5, that way it could work for years to come.

Dad Squared

This card is the curly label version of my up coming shoe box card.  There is just something I LOVE about embossing folders!!!!  I have started to feel you can't have too many on any given card.  I know Father's Day only comes around once a year so I wanted to make a card that would work for Father's Day and for just a general card or birthday.  This card could be a cute baby boy tick tack toe board too ;)  Oh the possibilities!!!

Dad/Grad Pin Card

This card was from from my "Sad, Dad, Grad" Class.  For mother's Day my brother gave my mom a card that had a ribbon attached to it.  After you read the card you cut the paper that was holding the pin to the ribbon.  I thought it was such a cute idea that I wanted one for Father's Day or Graduation.
Stampin' Up:
Punch: 2 3/8" Scallop Circle, 1 3/8" Circle
Stamps: Blue Ribbon
This is just an easy way to cut the scalloped part of the ribbon.
Someone on line demoed it a while back and I was AMAZED when
I tried it last night. You hand cut the ribbon part.  Then you feed that
part through the punch and line up the scallops, and punch away!!!
You could put any picture or saying in the middle of the
ribbon.  After making the ribbon you attach the pin to the
back and then attach the ribbon with tape to your card back.
Or just had out the ribbons without a card ;)

Happy 101st Birthday Grandma

Tomorrow my grandma will turn 101. My grandma loves cards and things to decorate her house. At her age she does not need more things to dust so I thought a pretty banner would be great to match her card. There is something so special about banners so I wanted her to have one this year :)  Last year she asked us to get her KFC for dinner!  I wonder what she will ask my parents for this year ;)

Chalk Play

Today I would like to share my friend Caroline's card swap. She wanted to use the chalk board technique for her swap. I was so excited when she told me about her card. I loved it when I saw it too!  She stamped her images with a verse mark pad and then embossed it with white. After she drew on her white pencil lines and butterflies. Thanks for the cute card Caroline :)

Thanks a Million

I am sad to say it took this stamp set being on the retired list for me to pull it off the shelf.  This card was a copy from Pintrest. I changed the background to brown and the stamp and boarder from black to blue.  I have to admit it is mostly because I could not find the black stamp pad.  I love how cute she looks with her boots.  So Thanks a Million for stopping by!

Imagine the Possibilities

This was the last card I made for my Monday night class.  I would like to thank Lowe's for the free paint sample that I used to make this card.  The best part is I did not have to find three different purples that matched.  I attached the butterflies to the paper first.  Then I added the imagine under the butterflies.  I topped it off with a little floss that the bottom.  Just a note to make sure the floss does not get pulled inside the card you make a font of the card.  After the floss is on you attach the whole front to a complete card.

Keep Calm and Eat a Cupcake

This is another card from my Monday class.  I have wanted to play with this stamp set one more time before it got neglected after being on the retired list.  I know this card is really simple but I have come to love the stamped background with the words on the top.  I think I am going to do something similar for my next class but with a graduation theme.  Stay tuned!

Keep Calm and Shop On

I had so much fun stamping with friends on Monday that I wanted to share a few.  I have wanted to play with these stamps since I got the stamp set (months ago).  I have to admit I really was not sure if I wanted this set, but as soon as it was pulled off the shelves I wanted it.  I guess it goes back to the idea of if you can't have it you find a NEED for it!  With that said, I found this card on Pintrest and loved it!  Though as much as I love it think about how cute it would be in pink and black.  Maybe an embossed black purse to look like a little girls shiny black purse!!!  Maybe one day this stamp set will come back off the shelf ;)

Baseball

A friend of mine called and asked for a little help creating the elements to go on her daughters classroom door.  It was the start of teacher appreciation week at her school and she needed to decorate the door of the classroom.  Lets just say it took a little convincing when I found out I had to help create a Giants door.  See growing up my dad was (and still is) a Dodgers so doing anything in orange and black puts me out as a trader to "our team".  Wanting to help I put the rivalry to the side and got to work cricuting out jerseys and pennants.  In the end We were so proud of the work that we put into the project.  Needless the teacher, kids and parents LOVED it!  Thanks Cassie for allowing me to play with a baseball themed project.  Dad might just get a Dodger's Birthday Banner this year!  Stay tuned!!!

Happy Mother's Day Mom

I have a very Special mom!  She raised two children (thus the boy and girl), who I might say turned out pretty well.  I wanted to make a card that has a very old fashion look and feel.  So when I saw my pile of retiring stamps on the desk this set stood out.  I was so not sure of what I wanted the card to look like when I was done.  So without a plan I sat down and in the end ended up with this card.  I was actually excited when it was done, but lets just say there were a few yucks along the way.

Cinco De Mayo Cupcake Topper

Erin found the idea for the cupcake toppers as well. They were so much fun to make. I looked all over for a stamp set to use. Finally I used my Packed with Birthday stamp and just colored in the piñata with a stamp pen. They took a while due to the coloring but I loved how they turned out!

Mother's Day

Happy Mothers Day!  I wanted to do something fun with lots of embossing folders.  In the end I LOVED all of the layers of colors and textures.  Looking back I only wished I would have done something with the green.  It looks a little flat in this picture compared to everything else.  I hope you got to spend a little time with the ladies in your life!

Cinco De Mayo Birthday Banner

There is something I just LOVE about banners so I had to make one for the party! I used the extra paper to create this oh so piece of cuteness!

Cinco De Mayo Birthday Invite

My Friend Erin asked me if I was willing to help her with her daughters first birthday party. The date was set for May 5th so a Cinco De Mayo party became the theme :). Erin found some ideas online and passed them over. Then the MDS and stamp sets got to work. As I punched Erin cut the strips of streamer to go behind the circles. Look how cute it turned out!!!

Happy 101st Birthday Grandma

Can you believe that my Grandma will be 101 on Saturday??? It seemed like a lot last year when she turned a hundred. Over the last year she has lost my grandpa and life has changed a lot so I thought a special card would be nice :)  I will have to pick up a box of chocolate from See's to go with it to get an even bigger smile.
